Ah, donuts. Crispy on the outside (or, at least they should be), soft and warm on the inside. One of my favorite things. Supermarket donuts are sad imitations of what could be so divine. Nothing is better than a hot, fresh doughnut. So, feeling the urge and being without a vehicle, I decided to make my own. Now, making donuts can be a time consuming and labor-intensive project, so I decided to google around for an easier way...there's always an easier way to do everything.
And here it is:
Take a can of biscuit dough. Use a small circular cookie cutter to make the holes. (I actually used the lid to my salt shaker because it was the perfect size and I don't have a tiny cookie cutter or one that's not shaped like a Christmas ornament.)

Fry a few pieces at a time in oil over medium heat. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar, cinnamon and sugar, or glaze with a yummy icing.
Voila! Hot, crispy donuts.

I cooked these in my deep fryer at about 350 degrees for 1 minute or so on each side. You could also cook them in a pan over medium heat with a 1/2" of oil or so.
